"Maulidur Rasul (dalam bahasa Arab bermaksud kelahiran Rasul) adalah hari bersejarah keputeraan Nabi Muhammad. Hari ini jatuh pada hari ke-12 bulan Rabiul Awal sempena kelahiran Nabi yang jatuh pada pada hari Khamis 12 Rabiul Awalnabi terakhir yang diutus oleh Allah Subhanahu Wataala. Tapak kelahiran baginda pula kini mempunyai satu bangunan kecil yang dikenali sebagai Maulid Nabi. Tahun Gajah bersamaan dengan 23 April 571. Baginda adalah nabi terakhir yang diutus oleh Allah Subhanahu Wataala. Tapak kelahiran baginda pula kini mempunyai satu bangunan kecil yang dikenali sebagai Maulid Nabi.
Setiap tahun pada hari itu, umat Islam di seluruh dunia akan mengadakan majlis memperingati keputeraan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w dengan mengadakan beberapa acara seperti perarakan, ceramah dan sebagainya. Banyak kelebihan dan keistimewaan yang akan dikurniakan oleh Allah Subhanahu Wataala kepada mereka yang dapat mengadakan atau menghadiri majlis Maulidur Rasul.
Kita dapat lihat betapa besarnya kelebihan orang yang memuliakan majlis keputeraan Nabi Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, kerana bila berniat sahaja hendak mengadakan Maulud Nabi, sudah pun dikira mendapat pahaladan dimuliakan. Sememangnya bernazar untuk melakukan sesuatu yang baik merupakan doa dan dikira amal salih.
Jelas kepada kita bahawa pembalasan Allah Subhanahu Wataala terhadap kebaikan begitu cepat sehinggakan terdetik sahaja di hati hendak berbuat kebaikan, sudah Allah Subhanahu Wataala akan memberi pembalasan yang tiada ternilai. Seseorang yang beriman, kuat bersandar kepada Allah, ketika di dalam kesusahan dia tetap tenang dan hatinya hanya mengadu kepada Allah dan mengharapkan pertolongan dan kasih sayang Allah Subhanahu Wataala.
Keberkatan mengadakan Majlis Maulud itu bukan sahaja didapati oleh orang yang mengadakan majlis itu, tetapi seluruh ahli rumah atau orang yang tinggal di tempat itu turut mendapat keberkatannya." ^^
PUTRAJAYA: Wee Soo Yen stood out like a sore thumb among the rest of the Maulidur Rasul award recipients.
The 16-year-old Kelantanese was not only the youngest in the crowd, but is also a Buddhist.Her background, though, did not stop her from mastering Arabic, an achievement which won her the award, whose other five recipients comprised individuals with distinguished titles.
Wee became the first non-Muslim student in the country to win the coveted award. A feat, the Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Bachok student said she was able to accomplish with the help of her friends and her teacher.
"I wanted the challenge and I eventually became interested in the language.
"My parents were initially apprehensive as they were afraid I would fail the subject, but I promised I would try my best," she said, referring to the Penilaian Menengah Rendah examinations, in which she scored straight As, including for Arabic language, last year.
Wee admitted that it was a little tough at first as she could not practise speaking the language at home, but she grabbed any opportunity to do so at school and always referred to her teachers and friends.
She was also surprised when she was shortlisted for the award as she did not think that she did that well.
The Form Four student said she was honoured and happy to receive the award, even more so as it was presented to her by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
"This is a meaningful recognition which is going to encourage me to strive for more success in the future," she said, adding that one day she hoped to become a lecturer and emulate the success of her idol, Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz.
National Fatwa council member Dr Abdul Hayei Abdul Sukor received the premier Maulidur Rasul award and RM50,000 for his contributions to Islam.
The former Universiti Malaya Islamic studies lecturer from Kelantan said he saw the award as a sign that good still prevailed among Muslims.
"I never gave up, with the gifts and blessings from Allah," he said.
In Kuantan, former Sekolah Kebangsaan Cherok Paloh headmaster Ismail Nihat, 60, and state Welfare Department director Datuk Shamsiah Husin, 56, were this year's recipients of the Tokoh Maulidur Rasul Award.
In Alor Star, Insaniah Syariah and Islamic Law Faculty dean Associate Prof Dr Abdul Aziz Hanif, 63, was named "Tokoh Pendakwah".
Kampung Ulu Tawar mosque imam, Abdul Wahab Che Li, 60, was awarded the "Tokoh Imam".
Both award recipients received a scroll and RM2,000 each from the sultan of Kedah.
In Penang, Muhammad Asyraf Mohd Ridzuan, 27, the inaugural winner of Islamic reality TV show Imam Muda, and halal product researcher Prof Zhari Ismail, 61, from Universiti Sains Malaysia received the state's Maulidur Rasul special awards.
Asyraf was recognised for his efforts in carrying out evangelism, while Prof Zhari was recognised for his efforts in the research of halal products.
